I wrote this essay about the process involved in making a movie on Xtranormal.com. This was a really fun project, but the characters are hard to understand at times.

This was really fun to play with. The speech is sometimes hard to understand, no matter how phonetically the words are spelled within the script, but overall it was pretty simple to do. The thing I had the hardest time with was getting the camera angles where I wanted them. I spent about two hours thinking about what subject I wanted to approach; ultimately deciding on an environmental issue.
My goal was to show a couple of adolescent friends sharing information and experience with something I think people often forget; the importance of bees in our environment.
The scene begins with the girl asking the boy, Jimmy, what he doing today. Jimmy then begins telling her the story of how he threw a rock and was suddenly being chased by bees and ended up getting stung. He was determined to go out bee hunting because he was angry about it. His female friend then tells him what she knows about how important bees are, not only to the environment, but to him because he loves honey on his morning toast. She is trying to make a case so he understands he should just leave them alone. Now he is informed that the honey his mom buys from the store is created by bees and makes the decision to “bee” more careful in the future. He then cites the American Beekeeping Federation as a place to go for more information.
I think it came out okay and would not change it. I like the message and the simplicity of how I made it.
